Why I wrote it...
Aimen, my oldest of the fantastic four, was in grade 1 at the time. One day after school, she handed me a wad of stapled sheets with a few odd sketches and crooked words doodled and scribbled all over it and asked me to read.
That was the manuscript, the very first draft of what was to be our first children's book: 5 Snowmen and 5 Kids.
Aimen's story was simple. It was five lines, barely reaching over twenty words. But it had a great spirit that oozed out even in those few scribbled sentences and sketchy artwork. It talked about five snowmen and five children and their emotional investment in the snowmen.
I loved it!
But more than that I saw an immense opportunity in spending time with my little girl, infusing a deeper love for books, for reading and for writing them too. And so we sat together on my laptop, mommy and darling, and we nourished this tiny tale into a full blooming book!
